Exploratory Paper Due Monday Oct. 24

Write your exploratory paper, in which you
  1. explain the issue;

  2. Explain what caused the issue (what prompted past and present interest and concern with it);Identify who is interested in it and why;
    Examine the different perspectives on the issue.

  3. explain three positions on the issue along with reasons for each of them;

  4. explain your interest in the issue and the position you will take;

  5. make a tentative claim and indicate how you will develop this claim in your future research paper.
This paper must be 500 words long.
Your grade for the exploratory paper will be based on these standards:
Major Criteria · Focus on exploration, not proving a point · Summary and evaluation of possible sources· Intro that includes explanation of interest and significance of the topic · Conclusion that tells me where you stand, what you’ve learned, and what you still don’t know
Style elements · Academic language · Clarity and cohesion · Good use of paragraphing and transitions · No grammar, spelling, punctuation errors · Correct essay format
